Just a tiny sampling of vinyl at my 11th Goodwill (on this blog at least). Almost all Xmas music clearly put out recently for the occasion except for one very odd disco/rock record which I almost bought. (Something/somebody needs to keep Macho company).

Oak Park Records, Oak Park IL
My first visit to Oak Park Records did not go well back in March. I forgot about the place entirely until recently, so I made an impromptu journey straight from work two days ago and found the following: Well I get that people have other things going on in their life then sitting at a […]
Another Sunday at Raffe’s
I first learned of Raffe’s at the CHIRP record fair last spring. I made my first visit on Record Store Day a short time later and I have now returned twice since. It has taken three visits to continue to return and purchase the Paul Desmond records I saw on my first visit and which […]
Goodwill, Mundelien IL
This is the 10th Goodwill I am blogging about and it has been a wild adventure! No, that is not true. It has been filled with records without jackets, jackets without records, jackets separated into two easy pieces (sans vinyl) and a multitude of religious recordings aimed squarely at no record collector who has lived […]
Tri-County Thrift, Grayslake IL
Unfortunately nothing to see here but still glad I stopped!
For the second year in a row I hit both of the major Zurko flea markets at the Dupage County Fairgrounds. They comprise a bi-annual ritual I have committed to for the rest of my lifetime. The All-Nighter being a rite of summer; and this, of autumn. Both events have proven rich with vinyl and […]
Return to The Brown Elephant
I have an excellent/bad habit of wasting the day away on Sundays. I usually don’t get out of bed (at least not enough to clothe myself or leave my domicile) until mid afternoon at best. However, once I do, I am often urged to cycle hard as I feel very much like a sloth. I […]
Dual Garage Sale Action
Set out to hit a couple sales via gsalr.com on a Saturday morning – both centered around a stop at the Oak Park Farmers Market. The first one did not have much to offer – just a single box with mostly religious recordings and the occasional orchestral release. After that I stopped at the market […]
Savers, Carol Stream
Haven’t been round this way in a while and I don’t know if this Savers did not exist previously or if I just missed/ignored it. A bevy of finds lurked within. The Anne Murray you see above I just purchased this summer at a garage sale (I’d still love to have the Arc version) and […]
Half Price Books, Bloomingdale
Hooked a U-turn upon coming across this one. Crawled around on all fours (as per my usual MO) to examine the commons. Only discovery of note down yonder was a sickening mint jacket/destroyed vinyl version of the OG Bossa Nova release. No idea what could have inspired someone to do this kind of intentional damage. […]
